The Citizen's Measure 3-568 Won! 11/2/21

​

Personally, I was very happy and relieved that voters chose Measure 3-568 over the competing Measure 3-575 on 11/2/21. The primary goal of the Measure is to include 15 nature parks in an existing Charter in order to protect them from certain types of development. On November 2nd, this vision became a reality because many volunteers worked hard during the last year and a half. We encountered several barriers such as COVID, winter weather, power outages plus an ice storm, a competing measure, politics, etc. It was not an easy task but we did it! What a fantastic team effort! Thank you Scott Handley and the Steering Committee for dedicating their time, energy, experience, and expertise. Thank you to everyone to helped support this cause!

It's too bad that the competing Measure caused some tension within our community. Going forward, let's all work together to protect our natural environment.
