Protect Lake Oswego Trees!
About
Until October 2021, the Protect LO Trees group was called the LO Tree Task Force. Our group was formed by neighbors, who live in the Bryant Neighborhood, at the end of 2019 in Lake Oswego, Oregon. All of us are concerned about the alarmingly rapid removal of large old trees, groves, forests, and nature parks in our area due to development projects, climate change, and other reasons. Our group's main purpose is to try our best to protect the trees in our beautiful city. It also serves as a way to bring together individuals who are out there trying to save them.

One of the most important goals of Protect LO Trees is to fight against the unnecessary removal of trees, especially the magnificent old Douglas firs and others that give our City its unique character. We're taking important steps in this effort such as by staying involved in city government and by thinking of ways to strengthen existing legal code that's meant to protect the environment. The city's Tree Code (Chapter 55) desperately needs to be improved so this is an area that we're focusing on.

The Protect LO Trees website offers a hub where a lot of information can be shared and accessed easily. For example, under the Library tab, you can find a lot of links to books, articles, films, etc. The Gallery page shows photos related to trees in our area.

Please contact us if you'd like to be added to our mailing list. Also, let us know if you have ideas on how to save our trees or if you have some information that you'd like to add to this website.

Sincerely,
